Aschbach

Aschbach was for centuries a possession of the Bishop of Speyer.

Evoked for the first time in 1314, Aschbach is then in fee to Windrush lords, vassals of the accounts of two-bridge, and part with its neighbors and Oberroedern Stundwiller, the Oberamt Lauterburg, administrative structure s' extends on both sides of Bienwald. These three villages are also from the 1376 Obergericht. The parish church was built between 1869 and 1871 by architect Roehrig of Wissembourg.

Evacuated in 1939, the town suffered extensive damage during the battle around the Maginot Line in June 1940 and is affected by two-thirds during the fighting in January 1945.

During the last decade, the town has invested in building the village center of a new building "common house", hosting both the mayor and the village hall.
